Where does the abbreviation FYF come from?

FYF comes from the Swedish name of the Association, which is also its legal name – Föreningen Ytkemisk Forskning. A direct translation of this would be The Association for Surface Chemical Research, but instead the term The Association for Surface Chemistry Research is used in English.
