SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden expands in Skåne

Ideon GatewaySP Technical Research Institute of Sweden has signed an agreement to move into the Ideon Gateway in Lund. This forms part of the Institute's policy to extend its activities to Skåne: the next stage is recruitment of personnel.

SP has taken over a complete floor of the Ideon Gateway business complex, and is now staffing the office and recruiting skilled personnel.  It is expected that numbers will have reached about 50 employees in Lund and 75 in the rest of Skåne within a few years.

 – Skåne is an expansive region, with many interesting organisations and infrastructural services.  SP's work covers everything from foodstuffs and energy to transport and behavioural science, and so I firmly believe that our expertise can make a valuable contribution, says Maria Khorsand, SP's Managing Director and Group Chief Executive.

SP has had a presence in the region for many years, with specialised staff stationed there.  Most of them will now be based in the new Ideon office.  The choice of Ideon Gateway was considerably influenced by its closeness to the Lund Institute of Technology, ESS and various incubator organisations and small companies.  The building's environmental profile, and the cluster of companies and sectors that will be in the Gateway complex, also played an important part.

 – The entire project is exciting, and accords fully with SP's own policies and values.  A local office also makes it easier for us to work more closely with the universities and institutes of technology in the area, says Maria Khorsand.
