Combating problems from wood extractives

VINNOVA is financing a BIM Kemi - YKI project on new formulations of chemical additives to combat problems from wood extractives during pulp and papermaking.

The Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA) has announced that it is financing a new project at BIM Kemi AB in Stenkullen, Sweden through the Forska&Väx (Research&Grow) program. The aim is to develop and implement new formulations of chemical additives to combat problems from wood extractives during pulp and papermaking. The total funding is almost 1.3 MSEK out of which a major part will be for direct collaboration with YKI researchers.

 

BIM is a specialty chemical company that develops, produces and markets specialty chemicals for the worldwide pulp and paper industry. The company is a member of YKI's industrial association - FYF.
