WOODLIFE
YKI will coordinate the new EU-project WOODLIFE that is expected to start during the spring 2010.The long term objective of this project is to provide coated and glued wood products with substantially improved durability. The aim of the project is to develop new clear coatings for wood with improved UV-protection and new wood adhesives with improved mechanical properties, using metal oxide nanoparticles and clay nanoparticles.
The consortium includes 11 partners; Akzo Nobel Deco, Casco Adhesives, BYK Chemie, Laviosa Chimica Mineraria, Eka Chemicals, Oxonica, SP Trätek, PRA, SIRRIS, UPV and YKI. The total budget of the project is about 34.5 MSEK.
