Two becomes one - YKI has a new section

The two former sections Chemical and Engineering Industries Section and Food and Pharmaceutical Section have merged into the Life Science and Chemical Industries Section.

"The main reasons for the change were to better utilize the internal competences and to receive a critical mass and therefore better coordinate and gather our research activities.", says Fredrik Johansson, Section Manger.

The section currently has 10 senior scientists, 6 laboratory engineers and 4 PhD students focusing on two main fields - Formulation and Tribology. The focus of the research within these areas is surface chemistry relevant to chemical industries and life sciences; covering e.g. pharmaceutical, personal care, biotechnical, medical device and food industries.
