- Work under strict confidentiality
- Allocate a dedicated project leader together with a team of appropriate scientific experts to the project
- Use paginated, counter-signed lab books
- Use written instructions and documentation of all work procedures, results, etc
- Provide all documentation needed as support for patenting
- Write TechNotes to continuously report on development in ongoing project
- Meet frequently with the customer to report, discuss, and direct the project to meet any changes in requests
