Antifouling
YKI is active in the area of anti(bio)fouling. YKI develops new antifouling paints together with the SP group, Gothenburg University and industry in a joint NICe project.
The objective of this project is to develop ecofriendly, effective and economical marine antifouling paints with controlled release of active substance by the use of nano-porous particulate carriers. The role of YKI is to maximise the load of the actives (mainly enzymes) in the nano-porous carriers and to control the release rate of the actives from the carriers.
