Forest Products Section
The Forest Products Section combines deep-going understanding of surface chemistry and surface functionalization with practical knowledge of papermaking, coating and printing processes.
The section research activities range from contract work and application-oriented research to basic strategic research and technology transfer. We place a strong emphasis on each link in this chain, with open research providing the development of new methods and systems to continually renew the base for consortium projects and more product-directed contract work, which in turn generates new contacts and awareness of future areas of interest.
The activities of the section are of special interest to the following industries:
- The pulp and paper industries and their chemical and machine suppliers
- The graphic arts industry and their ink and machine suppliers
- The converting and packaging industries and their customers
