Equipment grant for faster chemical mapping of delicate materials
The Troëdsson foundation for Scientific Research has awarded a grant of almost SEK 600 000 for instrument upgrades of our combined Raman/AFM/SNOM instrument The Raman/AFM/SNOM instrument was installed in 2007 at YKI thanks to another major grant from the same foundation. The upgrade will give us the possibility to analyze delicate samples with a faster CCD camera and to analyze samples in which the molecules have different orientation with a polarization unit. One example of what can be done is chemical mapping of soft matter materials, such as paper, wood or even chocolate.
